What I Wish I Knew When I Started Using Coupons...
- It’s okay to miss a deal. The deals will come around again.
- If the store is out, get a raincheck. It is not a big deal unless you need the item.
- Don’t buy an item just because it is on sale and you have a coupon. You will end up spending more money this way.
- It is not worth it most of the time to make a trip to a store for one free item. The sales tend to cycle through the stores. Pick your favorite store and stick with it.
- Not everyone spends the same amount for groceries, or buys the same items. Don't compare your savings to everyone else. Compare how much you are saving to how much you spent before. It's okay to spend more than $40/week on groceries.

Great Deals for Little Einstein Fans
Target has the Pat-Pat Rocket this week for $22. It retails for $39.99.
DisneyShopping.com has the Alaska Mission Playset and the Egypt Mission Playset that go with Pat Pat Rocket for $5.99 each. The regular retail on these is $19.50 each.
These would make great gifts for Christmas if your toddler loves this show as much as mine.
Also, if you have other toy shopping needs for Christmas, you could combine the Target deal with a $5/$50 toy purchase coupon that came in a Target mailer.

Coupon Class
Thank you so much to everyone who came out today! I look forward to hearing about all of your great savings.
I am planning another class because I have had such a huge response. Unfortunately due to time constraints and materials required to put on the class, I am not able to offer it for free.
The cost for future classes will be $15/person. This will include all handouts and beginners guide with everything you need to get started and more. The classes will have freebies, door prizes, and tons of great information.
Keep in mind that my classes give you the tools to cut your grocery bill in at least half. There is no ongoing subscription fee. It will pay for itself in your first trip to the store.
I have not set a date for my next class, but if you are interested in attending please send me an e-mail at providentprincess@gmail.com if you would like to be notified.
If you would like to host a class, I will come to you with a minimum 10 participants. If you host a class, the fee will be waived for the host.
I will also provide 1 on 1 workshops to suit your schedule for a fee of $25.
If you can't make a workshop or would just rather read information, look for information on purchasing materials soon.
If you have attended a class and would like to submit a testimonial/quote, e-mail it to me at providentprincess@gmail.com.
Happy Shopping!

CVS Raincheck Policy
Dear Kolina Romney:
Thank you for contacting CVS/pharmacy. I am in receipt of your e-mail concerning coupons. I can help you with this.
If you have a coupon that offers more off than the CVS sales price the coupon should be accepted and adjusted.
Coupons can only be used one time. Unfortunately when a coupon is scanned and states that it has been used, then we cannot accept it. I do apologize for the unprofessional manner in which the store manager handled this issue.
There is a policy for rainchecks on ExtraCare buck items. If the item has an Extra Buck offer, then the Extra Buck offer is subtracted from the sale price on the raincheck.
Again, thank you for contacting us with your concerns. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Sincerely,
Kathy Tobin

Deal Idea for Beginners:
Transaction 1:
Buy 1 Crest Toothpaste at $3.49, use $1 q
Pay $2.49 oop, get $3.49 ECB
Transaction 2:
Buy 10 Icebreakers at $1 each
Use 5 $1/2 Coupons
Use $3.49 ECB from Transaction 1
Pay $1.51 + Tax, get $5 ECB
Transaction 3:
Buy 2 packs of pampers at $10 each
Use $4/$20 CVS q (only if you are new, or have recently updated your e-mail address)
Use 2 $1.50/1 q's
Use $5 ECB from Transaction 2
Pay $8 + tax, get $5 ECB
Summary: 10 packs of gum, 1 toothpaste, 2 packs of diapers for $7 after ECBs and coupons!
The trick is to roll your ECBs to get more things that produce ECBs. Save your $5 ECB from the Pampers for next time.
If you are new to CVS, don't forget to scan your card at the card scanner/price checker. It will print good coupons to use on your purchases. They are CVS coupons so can be combined with a manufacturer's coupon.
If you are doing multiple transactions, be courteous to others. If someone is waiting behind me, I will usually let them go ahead.
